JJ is greatly talented at this tour. They made us feel welcome and safe. This is a challenging tour in a very smelly and grimy part of the city. They have an excellent presentation spiral notebook with a great deal of visuals to present. This added a lot to the tour. My partner really liked this and hopes JJ will write their own history book based on this presentation. We would buy it.

I have always known San Francisco had a plethora of LGBTQ+ history, but I never considered how much centralized in the Tenderloin. People often give it a bad rap, so it was refreshing to dive into some of the monumental experiences that occurred in the area and see what still exists in the area to this day. I had a great time on the walking tour and would definitely recommend anyone who is interested in learning more about queer history attend a session! I would happily take another tour with our guide -- it was a lot of fun!

I experienced the two hour walking tour of the Transgender District in San Francisco with JJ as tour guide and had a fabulous time; I found the tour informative and educational as JJ discussed the history of the fight for LGBTQ rights and how it shaped the areas throughout the district.

Often these city food tour are long on narration but short on really interesting food, because of the time of day and the dynamics of having a group come in to taste one plate. THIS WAS THE EXCEPTION. The dishes were all uniquely different from things I’ve tried before. We ran the gamut of tastes of Mexico, Asian fusion, African chocolate and more. Of the six stop I thoroughly enjoyed five (which is a high average). Our guide Paul was informative and unscripted.

Rik was an amazing tour guide. You could really tell he has a passion for what he was telling us. I love how he has deep roots to the city and we were able to see a glimpse of how he saw and loved San Francisco. I would 100% recommend his tour! His personality is so fun too! He was very easy to talk to which made the tour fly by without you even realizing it!

Eric really knows his stuff—he even has first-hand experience with a lot of what he talks about. He's also a great storyteller, which made the tour super engaging. I learned so much and found the whole thing really interesting. Some of the history is tough, but Eric does a great job showing why it matters and why we should care. Highly recommend!
