Great tour - Bill kept us safe, added informative commentary and kept us entertained. Some practicalities - arrive 30 mins early to sort you bike out. The hire base is at the end of the Powell and Hyde cable car. Rent an electric bike, as some of the route is steep so the electric bike helps, unless you can do the Tour de France. The pace is easy, lots of stops. Total distance was 13 km in 2 hours

We loved the Escape the City boxes. We just did the Castro box and previously did the other San Francisco box a few years earlier. We live just outside the city and this was a fun activity for a few hours. It made us notice things that we previously never did- and later when visiting the area we were reminded of our experience.The clues were hard but clever- but the optional hints made it easier. It’s my only escape room experience, but my kids found it familiar to other escape rooms.$50 seemed like a lot at first for the box. But it’s such a great deal- it was great entertainment for our family of four for several hours. More affordable than a traditional escape room and much nicer to be outside and at your own pace.I liked the Castro neighborhood better than SOMA but both were good. But be warned- it is the Castro- you may see some nudity.When we travel next we might try a box in a new city. We’ve gotten gifts of boxes for friends in their cities and recommended it to others.

Good experience. The bikes were good but could do with a holder for a mobile phone for using a sat nav. Better to book your ferry back separately as its cheaper. Had a great day out, cycling over the Golden Gate Bridge. What's not to like?

Fantastic service. Bikes were in great condition and easy to use. Operation was explained clearly with a quick test ride before we left. A short video to explain road rules was available as non locals. Recommend e-bikes even if you’re fit to really enjoy the experience. We intended to drop the bikes and ferry back but rode back as we loved it so much.

Much thanks to the owner for the special price accommodation to make-up for the unfortunate situation in 2020 that occurred & resulted in a cancellation of my reservation. The e-bike is more suitable than riding a regular bike around the San Francisco streets/hills. It definitely cut my round trip across the Golden Gate in half and the throttle helped the ride up the steep hills much easier (that's the only time it should be used). The e-bike has a U-lock and a helmet is available (optional). The shop was closed when I returned, I was able to return the e-bike to the garage next door as the owner instructed prior to check-out. I loved riding the e-bike for a day, I am looking forward to renting it again from AB&T when I return to the Bay area.

Our Escapely experience in the Castro was amazing! We have a 3 month old baby and it was the ideal adventure to take him on! We went with my in-laws, our best friends and their baby and everyone had a blast. The clues were engaging, challenging, fun, and kept us completely captivated and enthralled throughout. We loved the difficulty level and were perfectly challenged every step of the way. I liked how diverse the clues were and how they all connected. We also loved the other Escapely SF game and gifted one to our friends in DC. I’ve done Escape rooms around the world and Escapely is truly one of the best I’ve ever experienced!

We went into the shop that is by where the team turns around. The man in the shop was most helpful. He pointed out our route on his map in the wall and explained exactly how to get to Sausalito. We cycled there in no time and had a lovely lunch. We then cycled back but you can get a return ferry.

This was a fabulous experience. We booked on-line and got a good discount. The manager was very friendly and went through the wall map with suggesting of places to stop, photo opportunities etc. He then got us to test our bikes for size, gears etc. We cycled over the bridge and had a lovely taco 🌮 lunch in Sausalito. Feeling a bit tired 😴 we caught the ferry which had some marvellous views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate bridge

We had initially rented from Parkwide Bike & Rurrey rentals, but they handled a no-show without notice, which was very poor! Next, we walked past Bay City Bike rentals, who approached us asking if we wanted to rent bikes. We pointed out the "no-show Parkwide" issue, and they resolved it very nicely. We were extremely satisfied and rented two bikes from Bay City Rentals without any additional payment! It was amazing how they resolved the issue for us, spoke to us, and provided us with very well-maintained bikes. If you want to rent a bike with confidence, GO TO BAY CITY BIKE!!!! Thanks guys!!!
