Great tour - Bill kept us safe, added informative commentary and kept us entertained. Some practicalities - arrive 30 mins early to sort you bike out. The hire base is at the end of the Powell and Hyde cable car. Rent an electric bike, as some of the route is steep so the electric bike helps, unless you can do the Tour de France. The pace is easy, lots of stops. Total distance was 13 km in 2 hours

Me and my husband had a wonderful experience with the tour that was booked with Cool San Francisco. We were picked up at the arranged time, taken to the golden gate bridge where we had 10/15mins for photo opportunity, thank driven to Muir woods stayed for an 1 1/2 hours. Muir woods was not too busy at that time of the morning but when we left it had started to get busy. We than drove to Sausalito and spent an hour around the marina. There was a farmers market and lots of quaint little shops definitely worth visiting. We were than dropped off at Pier 33 with ample time. Given our Alcatraz tickets. We waited for the ferry. Alcatraz is definitely a must. Very eerier and sad to see how the prisoners had lived. What they must have endured. The tour was well organised and our guide Buddy was very knowledgeable in all areas and definitely kept us entertained Have booked a few tours with Cool San Francisco now. Always a good experience.

What a unique tour!
Eric's tour through the Haight-Ashbury district was incredible. He really knew his stuff and it was clear that he had done some digging to present special stories that made his tour unique. He gave the stories just the right amount of drama. I enjoyed the various themes he presented throughout his tour (no spoilers, sorry!) and how he wrapped everything up in a pretty bow at the end. I would highly recommend Eric's tour to anyone wanting to learn more about the sometimes sordid past of the Haight-Ashbury district. I loved the small group setting and Eric's willingness to take pictures!

Great Experience!
I highly recommend taking this Golden Gate Park tour with John! He was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the park, its history, the flora and fauna and of course, the microclimates of the city. We also got some good recommendations for eats nearby as well as an accurate weather forecast for the remaining days of our visit.

I loved John's tour of Golden Gate Park. I highly recommend it for families and anyone into nature and local history. My parents, who are in their 70s and from out-of-state, enjoyed the tranquil walk through several different sections of our park and were wowed by the diverse environments John chose to show us. He wove in his deep knowledge of nature, climate and history to help us understand where we were without being overly didactic. John himself is a pleasure to talk with—a warm, friendly person who truly enjoys getting to know travelers. He even knows some of the park's landscapers and gardeners; John introduced us to a head gardener and we got ask him questions about how he designed a certain section. It was really cool.

I booked the Haight crime tour for my birthday and Eric did not disappoint! He really made my day. I thought I was familiar with the history of Haight but the stories he shared, I was blown away! Eric went above and beyond to accommodate my group and even had a super sweet surprise at the end. I HIGHLY recommend taking a tour with him!

I subscribe to the idea that you can’t truly understand people unless you understand where they come from—their history, challenges, and aspirations. This tour did exactly that. It gave me a much deeper appreciation for the Castro’s history and the LGBTQ+ community that helped shape it. Eric is incredibly knowledgeable, warm and that comes across from the moment you meet him. He’s deeply passionate about his community, his city, and preserving the stories that inspire future generations to build a more equitable world. I would highly recommend any of his tours throughout San Francisco.

JJ is greatly talented at this tour. They made us feel welcome and safe. This is a challenging tour in a very smelly and grimy part of the city. They have an excellent presentation spiral notebook with a great deal of visuals to present. This added a lot to the tour. My partner really liked this and hopes JJ will write their own history book based on this presentation. We would buy it.

Dave shared lots of information both about the wildlife and the history of Golden Gate Park, which was fun even for us long time city residents.
